Overplaatsingen Telefoontjes!

Transfer calls! And.... I'm staying! 5th transfer in Paramaribo South! Super excited to stay here and it came as a huge surprise actually! Also I'm the new district leader! Craziness! I'm nervous but i'll rely on the Lord in all that I do and hopefully do a decent job here! Scary but with the Lord's help all is possible!

We had a super great week this past week! I wen on an exchange with Elder Hunt on Friday and man is he an awesome missionary! Hopefully I'll get to serve with him one day! We had a great time though and were there for two baptismal interviews for two of their investigators! And they got baptized on Saturday along with one of the Sisters' investigators! Paramaribo is doing so awesome! Love it here! Super spiritual baptism and they are some kingdom builders for sure! Astrid came to church on Sunday and is progressing great towards baptism! We had an awesome lesson with her on enduring to the end and she is so ready to get baptized! June 11th here we come! We also had a great lesson with Chiral on Saturday on the Word of Wisdom and he is just changing his life which is so cool to see. He was going to come to church on Sunday but didn't get his shirt in time so next week he'll come for sure. Pumped for that. Sad news is that Edmund moved on Sunday into another area so I won't be able to see him family anymore. Going to miss them a lot because they were basically my family here in Suriname. Love them a lot and they will be missed for sure. We also had two sweet lessons with Marciano (a member) on Patience and Letting our light shine! Super awesome and the Spirit is crazy strong all the time at his house. He's amazing. I love it here! Those were some highlights from our week!

Don't have much time today but I love you all and hope that you continue to study the scriptures every day! You all are the best! Lobi!

Mud Fight!!

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing awesome because that's what all of you wonderful people deserve! You all are so great and I really appreciate the support!

We had a pretty good week again this past week with some really good experiences! Chiral is a highlight for sure since he's awesome and is already in Alma in the Book of Mormon and knows it's true which is so cool! We had a super good lesson with him on Prayer, Scripture Study and Obedience and he was loving it. The Spirit was definitely there and he is just pumped to do everything. Sadly he wasn't able to come to church but he'll come next week I'm sure. Mikel was also cool since he told us how he's had a super rough past and is in some trouble right now but really just wants to change his life because he doesn't want to live like he is forever. Very cool and he knows that the Book of Mormon is true because he got an answer to his prayer. He wants to get baptized so now it's just helping him change his life which is going to be so cool to see! Very very awesome! Astrid is also doing great and is progressing great towards baptism which is super exciting as well. We went as the North Zone on Saturday to do a combined service activity for an investigator of the sisters so we drove an hour and a half or so to Saramacca to basically did a trench system and it was super fun! We all got blisters but it was fun using cutlasses, shovel and getting in the mud. I don't know if I've ever been so muddy in my life. Elder Dibb and I decided to paint our faces in the mud as well (pictures coming). Was super fun though and it was great to be with the missionaries doing service. Church was also great because one of our less actives, Sister Ramlal got reactivated which was awesome and Cheyenne, a less active, came for the first time in almost a year! I've been trying to get her to go to church for the whole time that I've been here and it was so so awesome to see her there! So that was awesome! Overall we had a great week!

I also gained a stronger testimony on the power of the Priesthood this past week as I was able to give my companion a blessing to help him through a hard time that he was going through. I can testify that the words did not come from me but they truly came from God. The Priesthood Power is real and is amazing and gaining more priesthood power is so important in this life. As we remain worthy and are exercising our faith, we increase our priesthood power! Super cool! Also learned a lot about faith as well. Faith is going to the edge of the light and then taking a few steps into the darkness, expecting that the light will come to show us the way. Sometimes it is hard to exercise our faith in this life and we don't know how the solution will come but I can testify that as we exercise that faith and keep the commandments that our Heavenly Father will greatly bless us for it! Pretty awesome stuff.

I love you all and hope that you have an amazing week this upcoming week! You all are amazing and make sure to keep on reading from the Book of Mormon! Lobi!

Edmund the Miracle Worker and the Temple!

Hey everyone once again! Fawaka? I hope all is well is the world wherever you may be at this moment because things are wonderful in Suriname! I love it here even though it may rain a little too much (literally every day where it sounds like hail it is raining so hard). Missionary work here is wonderful though!

We had a pretty awesome and crazy packed week! We had some AWESOME lessons with Chiral, one of our investigators this week and brought Edmund to come with us to the one on Monday and we found out that they used to be best friends so Edmund just taught the whole lesson basically, committed him to read every day from the Book of Mormon with a pen to mark things that the Spirit told him, he put him on a baptismal date and told him that he was going to pick him up for church. All we had to say was "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!" Pretty awesome and then we had another lesson with him later in the week and he had already read 13 chapters out of the Book of Mormon and prayed to be able to read better since he wasn't the best at reading and his prayer was answered. So sick! He's doing awesome and is so pumped to get baptized! All thanks to Edmund! He's the man. We also got a call from Michael, one of our old investigators who talked to us for 30 minutes on the phone just testifying of the truthfulness of the church and that he knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. He got an answer to his prayer and is so excited to get baptized now! We had a lesson with him this past weak and he is just so prepared to accept the gospel! So so cool and the members are just fellowshipping them like crazy! Awesomeness!

Another huge highlight of the week was zone conference on the temple which absolutely blew my mind. All used from the scriptures and you can learn so much about temples from the scriptures! It was amazing and truly a testimony builder that the temple is the house of God and that they are Holy places built from revelation! I had no clue how amazing they are and I am so pumped to go to the temple every week when I get back home. It was awesome! I also had a super good interview with President Egbert and he is just amazing and helped me a ton! We also had a fireside last night on the Book of Mormon which was awesome! Oh yeah and Pararmaribo hit 102 at church on Sunday. Legit!

I've really been able to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon on my mission and I know that if we read the Book of Mormon every day, even if it's only for 5 minutes, it will really improve our day and we'll able to feel the Spirit and to come to know that the Book of Mormon comes from God. Anyone who genuinely has the question on if it is true or not, whether you are a member of the church or not: I have an invitation for you. To read a chapter out of the Book of Mormon. Read Moroni chapter 10, especially verses 3-5 and pray and ask God with faith in Christ, with a sincere heart and with real intent and I promise you that you will get an answer because I have done the same thing. I know it will change your life.

I hope you all have a great week and are able to have some spiritual experiences this week. I love you all! Lobi!

Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to all you wonderful Mothers out there! You all deserved to have an amazing day because what would we do without mothers? The world would be a sad place! I'm so grateful for my Mother and the love that she shows to me and the wonderful example that she's been for me in my entire life! I truly am blessed to have her. Love you mom!!

We had a pretty good week overall this past week, but Elder Van Den Herik was sick for a few days so we didn't get to go out as much as we wanted to which kinda stunk, but what can you do. I've been blessed that I haven't gotten sick yet (knock on wood) and I hope that it doesn't happen! But Elvira, Raisa and Ivaldo have been getting us new investigators all the time! Super cool to see and they're going to get everyone baptized when we're done with this area! Pretty fun to see and they all are coming to church so we just have to start teaching the parents now and then gedoopt! (Baptized) Things are going well though and Astrid is doing awesome, the Draaibas family is doing well but they just need to come to church! One day they will! Not much exciting things else happened this week but we have zone conference this Saturday on the temple which I'm pumped about! Life is good and I wouldn't want to be in any other place than here. I love my mission and am super excited to continue giving my all to the Lord each and every day! Missions are the best ever!

Sorry it's short but not much happened! Love you all and I hope you have a wonderfully stupendous week! You deserve it! Lobi!

Baptism!!

Hello everyone! Hoe gaat het met jullie?! Life here is awesome and very, VERY wet! It basically rained non stop like crazy this whole week and enitre streets were underwater! Craziness! Gotta love Suriname though because this is the best place on Earth! The people are so awesome!

We had a really good week! Very very wet this week and I have been almost 24/7 drenched this week. Pretty intense but at least it's not so hot all the time anymore (except today. It's super hot right now...). Yeah we had our baptism on Saturday which was so cool! There were 4 people getting baptized, Raisa, another person from Paramaribo, a girl from Commewijne and a man from Wanika! So so cool and it was a HUGE and very spiritual baptism. So awesome! Loved it! They all did so great, the talks were awesome and they all got baptized on the first time. So awesome!

Ivaldo tried to scare us with that as well! He was supposed to baptize Raisa and at 5 when the baptism was supposed to start he was no where to be found! We called him and he said he was waiting for a bus at home which was decently far away so we panicked! Then Edmund told us to tell him to take his brom and head here so at 5:15 he finally showed up and we were able to get started. Gave us a heart attack though! Great kid though!

Of course the baptism was awesome as all baptisms are so that was a huge highlight! Also Elvira is now living with Edmund forever now which is such a huge miracle! So happy for them and to see that family come together. It's such a miracle! We had some really cool lessons with the Draaibas family and also with one of our investigators named Stefani. They are progressing well and we just have to get them to church now! Hoping that next week they'll come. One also cool thing has been teaching Astrid again. She is loving the gospel, has started reading again every day and wants to get baptized. She's so great and we're excited for her to progress. Things are going well and I'm loving Paramaribo South! Best area ever! Things are going awesome and we hope to find some more cool people this week. It was also Edmund's birthday this last Saturday! He's 40 woot woot! So we brought him a pie and went over and he made us some awesome Roti for us with chicken! Lekker lekker lekker! (Tasty)!

That was some highlights for us this week! Looking forward to Mothers Day and to keep on working here! I absolutely love Suriname and am so grateful to be a missionary! No where else I'd rather be! I love you all and hope that you have a great week! You're the best! Lobi!
